I land at Denpasar airport and after spending the night on the mattress I go to rent Scoopy, the scooter that accompanied me for several days on the island of Bali

After getting on the scooter I headed to Ubud, a lot of traffic on the streets but after a large plate of Indonesian cuisine which turned out to be very good I arrived at the hostel, a very particular location in full Balinese style .

In Bali there are really a lot of things to do and places to see, I visited some beautiful temples, saw waterfalls and took walks among the rice fields

After a week I headed to the port of Sanur where I took the ferry towards Nusa Penida, a small island thirty minutes by boat from Bali, much smaller but still very interesting where you can see lots of large manta rays and numerous sea turtles . I admired several beaches, below is Diamond Beach

Nusa Penida is quite touristy and in the following photo you can see the famous iconic beach called Kelingking Beach. After a very steep descent you arrive at this beautiful beach of fine sand where you can swim accompanied by strong waves

After a few days I headed to the port to take another ferry to visit an island four and a half hours away from Nusa Penida, on board the fast boat we docked at the port of Lombok

Lombok is quite large, like Bali but also something more probably, the southern part of the island has lots of beaches and places where you can surf while the northern part has various waterfalls and volcano trekking. On this trip I visited the southern part and admired beautiful places

Riding around the streets of the island on a scooter I also saw numerous tobacco plantations and many locals moving the leaves left to dry in the sun after being shredded

One morning I headed to one of the many spots where it is possible to surf and accompanied by an Indonesian boat I dived into the waves of the Indian Ocean. In Indonesia there is the Reef. It was the first town I encountered with a reef and I must admit that in addition to being very beautiful and full of animals, plants and corals, it is also quite dangerous, especially if you go surfing and the water is shallow, however it was a 'interesting experience

Days later I moved from the island of Lombok to go to the Gili Islands. There are three Gili Islands: Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three and also the most touristy and full of clubs with loud music; Gili Air, a little smaller than the previous one and quieter but still with some clubs and finally Gili Meno the smallest of the three and also the quietest. I wanted to go to Gili Meno but logistically it is much more inconvenient because there are not as many ferries as the other two and it would have required me an extra day. Since the three islands are quite close to each other and therefore quite similar I opted to visit Gili Air, this is the water found at the port

After getting off the public boat I headed to the hostel, a real bamboo hut. I put down my backpack and headed to the beach

It took me an hour and a half to do a complete tour of the island on foot, and along the way there are various spots where you can snorkel and see corals, sea turtles and many species of very colorful fish. After half an hour of swimming, two beautiful sea turtles arrived to keep me company, it was wonderful

I took the ferry back to the island of Bali and after a few hours I returned to Ubud. I visited a few waterfalls and beaches in the north of the island on board the scooter

The location of Ubud allows you to be an hour and a half away via scooter from various places and temples in the northern part and the same as an hour and a half from the cities and beaches of the southern part of the island

I also had the experience of the dentist in Indonesia and I'll tell you, I had a very good time

The last few days spent in Bali I spent doing various things, one of these was visiting the Nungnung waterfall and I loved it, if you happen to be in Bali, pay us a visit, it has an impressive power!

After returning the scooter I headed to the airport to catch the flight towards Kuala Lumpur, ready for new adventures.

        Some little advice

➾ If you arrive at Denpasar airport, rent a scooter immediately nearby (you can ask the many Grab taxis that are near the airport's scooter parking lot) because this way you can avoid paying to go to Ubud or wherever you want to go. Both for going and coming back a shuttle bus or similar means is more convenient and faster because there is a lot of traffic and in the meantime if you have to leave the island by plane you still have to return to that airport.

➾ Scooter prices per day range from 50,000 to 85,000 Indonesian rupees, if you rent it for a week, 60,000 rupees per day is a good price but if you rent it for several more days it can be cheaper.

➾ For ferries to the other islands you can go to the port of Sanur via Grab (application called Gojeck which works well in Bali) or via shuttle bus or taxi. Another port is Padangbai where public ferries depart, cheaper yes but this port is also much further from Denpasar and therefore you also consider the transport costs to get there.

Indonesia is a splendid country with wonderful landscapes, rich nature and a very lively ocean, inhabited by many beautiful animals. The population is hospitable (especially on the island of Bali) and the local food is good. I want to admit it before arriving, I thought Bali was a place only for tourists looking for a holiday and nothing more. In many places on this island it is like this but you just need to leave these locations to find yourself in beautiful landscapes. What a wonderful country!

Thank you very much Indonesia ❤️
