I land in Malaysia with the plan to stay for a week just to visit the capital and then take a train to go to Thailand. Spoiler: I stamped my exit visa two and a half months later

I arrived in Kuala Lumpur on the flight from Bali and headed towards the city centre, the capital is very organised, clean and I found public transport efficient

In the city center I also went to see one of the main attractions of the city, the KL twin towers which light up in various colors at night

After a few days spent in the capital I headed towards Cameron Highland, famous for its very large tea plantations and a cool climate that welcomes

In addition to the tea plantations there are also various jungle treks that can be done, below in the photo I was going to see a panoramic point surrounded by greenery

There in Cameron Highland I decide to try to have a Workaway experience which involves doing a few hours of volunteer work a day in exchange for free room and board and so after sending a few requests they replied to me from a small island on the East coast confirming me that there was a possibility of going there, the following day I took a bus and headed there

I arrived on Redang Island and I was quite surprised by the beauty of this place: many coconut palms, lots of beautiful animals, enchanting landscapes and beautiful beaches. Here I found myself on a strip of sand that was wet on both sides

Walking along the beach I used to find small shells, crabs and many corals , among the various things I saw there were also these giant shells that showed themselves when the low tide arrived

The water was crystal clear, truly of surprising beauty and when illuminated by the sun it gave its best.

I had the chance to snorkel almost every day, and every day it was a beautiful sight, turtles, sharks, lots of coral and beautiful tropical fish

On the island there are few roads and mainly jungle, very humid and also very beautiful, to move from one small group of resorts and houses to another you can go there via a trek

Many animals on that island, both marine and terrestrial, I saw several snakes, a lot of monitor lizards even two meters long, particular insects and squirrels, here in the photo I was trekking

In the evening fire on the beach and songs played on the guitar, one of those evenings was my birthday and the guys I was with even got me a personalized cake and we ate it while looking at the stars, it was a price that I really appreciated and it was a very nice birthday

After the beauty of five weeks I said goodbye to the island of Redang, it was a very beautiful experience, every morning it was a pleasant awakening to see so much beauty

I take the ferry and after a few buses and another ferry I head towards the West coast of Malaysia to get to another island to have another Workaway experience, this time on the island of Langkawi

A different island than where I was before, bigger and with more nightlife, here there are several attractions, rivers and waterfalls where you can dive and swim and large beaches

Walking towards a waterfall we came across a group of black monkeys, a particular species that has particularities such as the dark color and the outlines of the eyes and certain parts of the face that are white.

I spent about three weeks on that island after which I took a ferry towards Satun in Thailand

I had a good time in Malaysia, a very varied cuisine, an international country with various cultures, very clean and with functional streets, the people were kind and spoke good English

It was a great experience, I saw beautiful landscapes, many wonderful animals and met many people

Thank you Malaysia
